I

from the perspective of Ron Simpson, CRD model railroad builder

View of the east-end of the Copper Rail Depot layout at Copper Center, Alaska:   The blue lines represent the main-line. The dark red is the extension from the main-line to the current end-of-rail, designated as the White Pass & Yukon Railway Extension line. The gray line is the proposed Klondike Mines Railway segment, including the historic sites of Sulphur Springs, Soda, Flannery and Grand Forks, plus the Bonanza Creek dam.

Below the layout map is a Googe-Earth view of that same area of the KMR from Sulphur Springs in the far southeast to a point just beyond the site of Grand Forks. Superimposed is historic KMR right-of-way and a likely historic extension route in red which would have continued that line on to Stewart River and beyond to White Horse where the KMR would have merged with the White Pass Line.  These two maps are presented for comparison purposes.  The White Pass extension never existed except as historic concept. The Sulphur Springs wye on the lower map is oversized for emphasis.
